Bink & Gollie by Kate DiCamillo and Alison McGhee

Bink and GollieBink and Gollie are friends who are an unlikely match to say the least. Bink is little, maybe 6 or 7, and views the world through little kid glasses. Gollie on the other hand is probably a preteen, and she has a fabulous imagination and vocabulary to match. These girls are neighbors and friends, well more specifically Bink has latched onto Gollie, and Gollie doesn’t seem to mind. In fact, Bink and Gollie plan wonderful not quite ordinary adventures together – going roller skating and coming upon a BARGAIN BONANZA sale on socks; buying a fish, taking that fish to the movies, and then going roller skating with the fish, just to name a few. Who knows what excitement the day will hold when these two get together?? This book is written as three separate stories, and hopefully there will be many more. The characters are unique and quirky and wonderful and will be sure to delight readers for years to come.

P.S. The pictures are pretty wonderful too.
